Lincoln City Women got back to winning ways with a 6-0 thrashing of Solihull Moors.
The Imps took the lead in the first half through Amy Hunt (2), Abbie Murrell (11) and Amy Blinkhorn (35). They doubled their goals in the second half with another from Hunt (51) and two more from Blinkhorn (68, 82).
Manager, Richard Cooper, made three changes from last week’s starting line up against Long Eaton. Amy Kay, Hunt and Olivia Leslie returned in place of Erin Bellaby, Toni McHamilton and Ella Tuplin.
Lincoln got off to a very strong start, it took under two minutes for Hunt to get through on goal for the first time. She was supported by Murrell, who didn’t wait long to get onto the scoresheet herself.
Amy Kay received the ball in the box and passed back to Murrell, allowing her to find the back of the net.
Murrell was involved again as she set up Blinkhorn in the 35th minute. The striker neared goal and fooled the opposition goalkeeper by crossing to Blinkhorn at the opposite corner of the goalmouth.
Half time 0-3.
It wasn’t long into the second half that Hunt scored her second goal. Thornley had a shot on goal and Hunt chipped it in to stop it going wide.
Shortly after, Jess Rousseau took the ball wide out to the right before crossing to Blinkhorn at the corner of the box. The pair teamed up again to score a near-identical goal.
The Imps dominated from start to finish, with Chloe Gray in goal having very few touches of the ball. They worked well defensively to stop any attempts from the Solihull strikers in their tracks.
Full time 0-6.
