Report: Belles 2 Imps 5

Lincoln City women bounced back after Sunday's loss with a 5-2 victory over Doncaster Belles.


Manager, Lee Mitchell made three changes from the starting XI that lost to Leek. Alivia Chambers, Jeorgia Carr and Amy Blinkhorn made their returns as Toni McHamilton and Katie Williams started on the bench and Emily Atkinson was absent from the squad.


In the opening minutes of the game, Belles took the lead through a cross which was neatly finished by Price. Shortly after, Lincoln levelled. Lauryn Wilcock dribbling past two defenders on the left wing before slotting the ball away to the keepers left.


In the 20th minute, Doncaster pulled back the lead through Khan but moments later Leah Hardy went through one on one with the goalkeeper and calmly finished.


In the 32nd, Wilcock gave Lincoln the lead for the first time in the game after sending the keeper the wrong way.


HALF TIME 2-3.


The Imps started the second half slowly but began to grow into the game with good spells of possession with plenty attempts from both sides.


In the 70th minute, Sophie Crosby whipped in a corner, which bounced around the goalmouth allowing Amy Blinkhorn to tap the ball home on the line.


Lincoln began to look dominant, with comfortable passing and possession. To finish the game off, Hardy saw an opportunity from distance and sent a powerful shot to complete the scoring. The Imps saw the game out with continued shots on goal to take the three points in a well battled victory.
