Report: Imps v Solihull Moors

At a rainy Ashby Avenue, Lincoln City Women comfortably beat Solihull Moors 4-1.

The Imps made two changes from last week's winning starting line up. Erin Wilson and Olivia Leslie started in place of Eden Pedersen and Jeorgia Carr.

Lincoln dominated from the whistle, creating numerous chances and finally finding the back of the net in the 12th minute. Amy Blinkhorn found Tia Johnson in the box, who chipped it over the goalkeeper's head and gave the Imps the lead.

Shortly after, Abbie Murrell took the ball around the keeper and doubled the lead.

Solihull pulled one back in the 22nd minute when the ball rebounded to the feet of their striker following a strong save from Amy Halloran.

Johnson found the back of the net again at the half hour mark when she was on the receiving end of Daisy Marsh's corner. The half time score was 3-1 to the Imps.

Lincoln kept up their quality play in the second half, continuing to create chances and dominating possession for sections of the game. In the 73rd minute, Chloe Brock-Taylor almost added to the scoresheet with a powerful long-range shot but hit the bar.

In the 75th, Amy Kay scored her debut goal for the Imps with an impressive overhead kick in the goalmouth. The game came to a premature end due to the adverse weather conditions and the score remained 4-1.

Manager, Richard Cooper said:

"I'm really pleased with the way the players are applying themselves. It was difficult conditions today but the players stuck at it and we always looked dangerous, we were the only team in it really."

Solihull visit Lincoln again next Sunday at 2pm for the Second Round Qualifying of the FA Cup.
