Preview: Solihull Moors (H)

Lincoln City Women host Solihull Moors at Ashby Avenue on Sunday.

Solihull sit 10th in the league, six points and three places behind the Imps.

Recent form

Solihull have won just one of their five league games so far this season. The Moors beat Burton Albion 6-1 earlier this month, only to lose 3-0 to Albion a week later in the FAWNL Plate.

Sporting Khalsa, Leafield Athletic, Doncaster Belles and Long Eaton United have also taken points from Moors since the start of the season.

Previous meetings

The teams met twice last season, with Lincoln (then Nettleham Ladies) taking all six points.

When the Imps traveled to the West Midlands, Solihull took the lead in the first half but 48th and 54th minute goals from Ella Thompson-Moulding and Daisy Marsh secured Lincoln the win following a lengthy injury break which disrupted the game.

When Solihull made the trip to Mulsanne Park last March, Lincoln came away with a convincing 5-1 victory.

Who to watch

Newly-signed Eboni Fowkes has scored four goals in her seven appearances this season, including a hat-trick against Burton Albion. Fowkes has been named ‘opposition player of the match’ twice.

Sigourney Gowlett has been named team captain in her first season with the team, and has picked up the ‘opposition player of the match’ title twice already. The midfielder scored twice in her sixteen appearances last season for her previous team, Leamington Lions.

The game will take place at 2pm at Ashby Avenue, LN6 0DY.
