Lincoln City Women FC are delighted to announce a new community partnership with Lincoln Disability FC. The Imps are not only developing players to be pitch ready, off the field we are keen to develop good relationships with groups in the community, especially through football.
What will that look like?
LCWFC players and other club volunteers will attend and support Lincoln Disability FC when they train or cheer on at matches – training and fixtures allowing. There will be opportunities for LCWFC players to share and enhance their coaching skills with LDFC.
In the near future LDFC players will have the chance to support Lincoln City Women and help our matchdays run smoothly.
Player and Lincoln City Women captain Amy Blinkhorn is thrilled to lead the partnership for the club;
‘Having volunteered at LDFC myself, I’ve been fortunate enough to see at first-hand how important the club is within the community. I still have close links to the club and believe that we can support one another to enhance opportunities for individuals through football. I am incredibly excited about our partnership and look forward to being a part of this new and exciting journey ‘

It will be the first of a number of partnerships which will enable us to flourish and be a community club in the truest sense"
NOTES: Lincoln Disability FC began six years ago as a community club ran by volunteers and a committee chaired by Hayley Butts. LDFC welcomes anyone irrespective of disability be it physical, mental or a learning difficulty. The club usually attract 40 to 50 people to training sessions in Lincoln on a Monday night. There is no membership fee and players pay just £3 per session. LDFC are always grateful for sponsors to help out with football kits and tracksuits.
LDFC have five men’s teams and a women’s team who play in the Lincolnshire League and at grassroots under 12’s and under 16’s level they compete in the Nottinghamshire League. Their groups enjoy social nights, bowling, presentation evenings and Christmas meals.
